If the theory of evolution were true, there would be no evidence that dinosaurs lived at the same time as humans. However, if it is true that God created the Earth and all life, then we should find historical accounts of humans encountering dinosaurs. The Bible states that, ‘in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them’1, which would include dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Tracks
Who, upon encountering a gigantic dinosaur, wouldn’t share the story of such an adventure with their children? Surely such a tale would be passed down from generation to generation. As these great reptiles became scarcer, stories about the great beasts might have been embellished with various details. However, this does not change the fact that they would contain a kernel of truth. That is precisely what we find in folklore across various parts of the world.
‘People who were known to history as real individuals encountered or described great reptilian beasts known as dragons. Alexander the Great, Beowulf, Herodotus, Asian kings, Native American warriors, St. George who ‘slayed the dragon,’ sailors from many nations and centuries, and many others are remembered for their exploits with extraordinary creatures.’2
Dinosaurs and Native Americans
There is evidence that Native Americans once encountered great beasts. Numerous rock pictograms—such as drawings found in Colorado, Utah, and Arizona—indicate that Native Americans were familiar with dinosaurs, both flying and terrestrial. Additionally, they have many legends about terrifying creatures.

“Monastic” Dinosaurs
On the walls of a Cambodian monastery built around 1200 AD, carvings depicting numerous creatures that apparently lived near humans can be found. Among these is a clear depiction of a stegosaurus.
Dinosaurs and Aborigines
Australian Aborigines carved a scene depicting a hunt for a marine reptile. The carving shows hunters gathered in large numbers around a water inlet, spearing a long-necked monster with powerful flippers that looks remarkably like a plesiosaur. The carving also includes the creature’s internal organs, suggesting it was later dissected.
The Conclusion Is Simple
There is no doubt that dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time. The Book of Genesis does not lie!
