UFO sightings are often linked to phenomena of a paranormal nature. Are these events attempts by extraterrestrials to make contact, or do they have other origins?

In Part 1, we examined numerous UFO cases that resist conventional explanation. Among these are 701 sightings out of the 12,618 incidents investigated by Project Blue Book between 1952 and 1969.1 The significance of the issue is underscored by the attention it has received from government and military agencies.2 If these UFO sightings cannot be dismissed as birds, celestial bodies such as Venus, satellites, aircraft, drones, smudges on windows, hallucinations, dreams, fabricated accounts, or deliberate hoaxes, then what are we actually dealing with? Evidence suggests that some of these phenomena may indeed involve forces that transcend our world. Is it possible, however, that these forces are the inhabitants of other planets similar to ours?

What Do We Know About UFOs?

Let us start with what we know. UFOs have been reported on a global scale, yet the majority of sightings originate from the United States. This pattern suggests that whatever lies behind these phenomena may have a specific interest in this nuclear superpower.

Secondly, UFOs take on a wide variety of forms: glowing spheres, flying saucers, horizontal and vertical ellipsoids, polyhedrons, cigars, and more. At times, these objects feature lights or windows; at others, they appear to possess a seamless, uniform surface. These craft frequently exhibit astonishing speeds and execute manoeuvres beyond the capabilities of any Earthly technology. Furthermore, they seem to refrain from emitting detectable signals, such as radio waves, that could be easily intercepted.

Thirdly, witnesses claim to have observed several different alien races purportedly piloting UFOs. The most commonly described are the Greys, also referred to as Zeta Reticulans, named after the binary star system Zeta Reticuli, located approximately 39 light-years from Earth.3 Representatives of this species are believed to have been involved in the famous Roswell incident of 1947. Other reported races include ‘little green men’, Pleiadians, Arcturians, and reptilians. Some of these beings are said to communicate with certain humans through telepathy rather than face-to-face meetings.4

Ancient Astronauts?

Fourthly, the intentions of these beings towards humanity remain ambiguous. On the one hand, their messages often stress the importance of caring for our planet and fostering harmony with one another.5 On the other hand, they stay out of sight, avoiding any open contact with society or governments. This brings up the question of why we have yet to find any clear evidence of extraterrestrial life—intelligent or otherwise—even through radio signals. Why do they remain so hidden while occasionally catching our attention?

To add further complexity, it is claimed that these alleged aliens have been present since the dawn of human history, appearing to humanity in ancient times. This ‘ancient astronaut’ hypothesis has been embraced by numerous ufologists and proponents of esoteric beliefs, including those within New Age movements. They argue that extraterrestrial beings played a role in the origins of various religions, including Christianity. They often cite religious artworks that feature shapes resembling fantastical flying vehicles as evidence.6 According to this theory, aliens choose to remain hidden due to the fact that humanity is not yet mature enough to handle their existence.

UFOs and World Religions

Ufologists theorise that when aliens eventually choose to reveal themselves, they will simultaneously claim to be the creators of all world religions. Such a declaration would likely trigger a profound upheaval in contemporary religious beliefs.7 On the opposing side are religious fundamentalists, including those who adhere strictly to biblical teachings. They argue that, in the absence of scientific or biblical evidence for extraterrestrial civilisations, the beings appearing to humans must be demonic. According to this perspective, these entities seek to mislead people, encouraging them to abandon Christianity in favour of a global UFO-based religion.8 Unsurprisingly, ufologists reject this interpretation.

This argument warrants careful consideration. It is indeed intriguing that no alien fleet has ever been detected orbiting Earth. These vehicles seem to materialise in Earth’s atmosphere, only to vanish just as abruptly. Most intriguingly, their primary mode of communication with humans appears to be through extrasensory means, such as telepathy. For this reason, some ufologists theorise that these beings may not be extraterrestrial but rather interdimensional in nature.9 In other words, their origin may lie not only beyond our planet, but beyond the boundaries of our universe. Since the universe is understood to exist within three spatial dimensions, it is theorised that these beings inhabit what is commonly referred to as the fourth spatial dimension.

UFOs and the Bible

If four-dimensional beings exist, they might be capable of performing feats that are physically impossible for humans. UFO phenomena appear to fit into this category. On the one hand, UFOs interact with our physical world in observable and tangible ways. On the other hand, their seemingly impossible movements, extrasensory communication, and spiritually charged messages suggest a phenomenon of a profoundly metaphysical nature.10 Furthermore, if these entities were truly biological beings like ourselves, how could they possess abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, or levitation? It follows that these beings must belong to a higher order of existence than humanity.

The Bible describes higher beings that visit Earth and seem to originate from what could be considered a fourth dimension. These beings are referred to as angels. However, the realm of angels is divided into at least two distinct groups: God’s holy angels and those opposed to Him—fallen angels, commonly known as demons.11 Angels are described as being capable of manifesting to humans in various forms, appearing either as human beings or as spirits.12 Additionally, Satan himself can appear as an angel of light.13 In other words, angels—including fallen angels—are believed to possess the ability to take on the appearance of any living being. Could they present themselves as aliens? Quite possibly. The nature of their interactions with humanity, coupled with their anti-Christian rhetoric, strongly suggests that they are, in fact, fallen angels.

Angels Disguised as Pilots?

Is it possible for angels to utilise advanced craft, even though the Bible suggests they can fly independently? Our understanding of angels is far too limited to definitively rule out this possibility. The Bible itself makes reference to fiery chariots,14 one of which carried the prophet Elijah to heaven.15 The prophet Ezekiel, in his visions of heaven, also described angelic wheels covered with eyes.16 The knowledge possessed by angels, including fallen angels, far surpasses human understanding. It is entirely plausible that they are capable of creating things beyond our comprehension.

Whose Side Will We Choose?

The manifestations of fallen angels may be deliberately shaped to correspond with humanity’s cultural perceptions of extraterrestrial civilisations. Their apparent technology is likely designed to defy our understanding, evoking awe and curiosity. For those who aspire to explore the cosmos, encountering such beings could be an alluring and captivating experience.17 Will these supposed aliens eventually reveal themselves, and will their mysterious technology be uncovered? Perhaps we will find out soon.18 We must, however, bear in mind that these beings are unlikely to be who they claim to be.

Ultimately, we will face a pivotal choice: will we place our trust in questionable entities offering ‘forbidden cosmic technology’ and purported spiritual enlightenment, or in the Word of God, whose boundless love for humanity was demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son for our salvation?19 May God’s love fill each of our hearts, reminding us that the promise of eternal life with Him is far greater than anything these ‘aliens’ could offer. Let us stay focused on the love of Jesus Christ and not lose sight of what truly matters. As the Bible says, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’20
